Isabela

Isabela is in the north-western region of the island. At the entrance of Isabela is a carving in the cliff of Cacique Mabodamaca, a Taino chieftain. It serves as a reminder of his role in Puerto Rico's early history.

We found Fisherman's Village and had lunch at one of the kiosks, El Anzuelo Grill and Catina (The Fish Hook). The fish was very fresh. We had MahiMahi and Yellow Fin Tuna fish wraps.

From there we went to Shacks Beach. Diana snorkeled some, but there were several wind surfers coming too close to the snorkel area for comfort.

On the way back from the beach we stopped at Ola Lola's Garden Bar to try the "famous" Peanut Butter Burger. We shared one. It isn't something we will be adding to our list of favorite meals, however. It was a hamburger with peanut butter and sweet relish.
